- ZOFRAN (ondansetron)
Prevents nausea and vomiting caused by cancer
treatments (chemotherapy or radiation) or nausea and vomiting occurring after surgery.
You should not use this medicine if you have had an
allergic reaction to ondansetron or to other medicines for nausea and vomiting such as
dolasetron, granisetron, or tropisetron. You may take the medicine with or without food.
If you miss a dose:
- Take the missed dose as soon as possible, unless it is
almost time for your next dose.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next
regular dose.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.
Warnings
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor
before taking this medicine.
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease or
phenylketonuria before you take this medicine.
Side effects
Call your doctor right away if you have any of these
side effects:
- Skin rash, severe itching, or hives
- Swelling of the face, lips, or throat
- Wheezing or trouble breathing
If you have problems with these less serious side effects,
talk with your doctor.
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Tiredness or weakness
If you have other side effects that you think are
caused by this medicine, tell your doctor.
