- DITROPAN (oxybutynin)
Helps you control your urine and keeps you from
having to urinate too often. Also treats bladder spasms.
You should not use this medicine if you have had an
allergic reaction to oxybutynin.
Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
- Take this medicine on an empty stomach. If it upsets your
stomach, it may be taken with food.
- Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and
direct light
If you miss a dose:
- Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next
regular dose.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.
- Talk with your doctor before taking this medicine if you
have bowel or stomach problems, severe bleeding, prostate problems, glaucoma, heart,
liver, or kidney disease, or any other medical problems.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor
before taking this medicine.
- This medicine may cause drowsiness. Be careful while driving
a car, using machinery, or doing dangerous jobs.
- This medicine may make you sweat less and cause your body to
get too hot. Be careful in hot weather, when you are exercising, or if using a sauna or
whirlpool.
Call your doctor right away if you have any of these side
effects:
- Skin rash, hives and itching
- Fast or irregular heartbeat
- Confusion
- Seeing or hearing unusual things
If you have problems with these less serious side effects,
tell your doctor.
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Drowsiness
- Blurred vision
- Nausea or vomiting
- Sensitivity of eyes to light
