When you should not use this medicine
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to ergotamine
or caffeine in the past. Talk with your doctor before taking if you are allergic to any
medicine. You should not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have high blood
pressure, kidney, liver, or heart disease, or circulation or blood vessel disease.
How to use and store this medicine
Tablets:
- Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how
often.
- This medicine works best if taken at the first sign of a
migraine attack.
- Keep this medicine in the original tightly closed,
light-resistant container.
- Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
If you miss a dose:
Follow your doctor's instructions.
How to use this medicine
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter
medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Avoid drinking alcohol.
- Smoking may make your headaches worse or increase the side
effects of this medicine.
- Let your doctor know if you drink a lot of caffeine (such as
soft drinks or coffee).
Warnings
- Talk to your doctor before taking if you are pregnant,
breastfeeding, or if you have kidney or liver disease, high blood pressure, heart disease,
or another medical problem.
- While taking this medicine, you might become very sensitive
to cold temperature. Dress warmly in cold weather and don't stay outside too long.
Side effects
Call your doctor right away if you have any of these side effects:
- Pain, numbness, or tingling of fingers and toes
- Swelling of feet or legs
- Muscle pain or weakness
- Vision changes or eye pain
- Trouble breathing
- Irregular heartbeat
- Chest pain
If you have problems with these less serious side effects,
talk with your doctor.
- Dizziness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Nervousness
